BESC Annual Cookout – 2015

BESC is to held its annual cookout on September 20th, 2015 from 2:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Danehy Park in Cambridge, MA.

This event is free for all and mainly organized to recognize some of the future soccer stars that are participating in the

Soccer 4 Kids Program and other community members who has shown their dedication and support to our club year

after year.

This year this event would be bigger than ever, including lots of fun and games for kids, adults and kids soccer games, award ceremonies, raffle tickets and plenty of food.

Summary of the 2013 Annual General Meeting of BESC

On January 27th, 2013, Boston Ethiopian Sport Club held its annual general meeting at Asgard restaurant.

Here are some highlights below:

The annual report from the club president and the finance report from the treasurer for fiscal year 2012 were presented. In subsequent discussion, questions and comments were asked by members concerning of the annual reports. The president extended a warm thank you to Yonas Kassahun and Wubishet Wubie for their contributions as a sport director and secretary respectively. The Executive Committee has approved to award Wubishet Wubie for his dedication to our club and his services for the last couple years. Wubie expressed his thanks for being entrusted as a secretary of the BESC for the last seven years.


It was the wish of the Executive Committee to present to the members of BESC at this AGM a final draft of new bylaws to replace the current one which is long out of date.


Since our EC were short for two positions, the election took place. The members voted and elected Ato Nardos Tilahun as secretary, Ato Gedion Endeshaw as Sport Director and Ato Abel Degafu as Executive Member.


The EC was delighted to report that for the year 2012 the MVP recipient went to our goalie Getachew Abera, for outstanding achievement and continuous contribution to Wubishet Wubie, and recognition for supporting and sponsoring our team to Asgard Irish Pub and Restaurant. Congratulation to all those who received their awards.

We are happy to announce that the Boston Ethiopian Sport Club has started kids soccer practice last Saturday June 4th, 2011. The goal for this program is to provide a kid-friendly environment in which children are free to compete against their own limits and expand their capabilities, and to have a lot of fun doing it. The practice place is at Danehu Park, at 99 Sherman Street, in Cambridge. The time is from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM.

January 12th, 2011 marks the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The Boston Ethiopian Sport Club would like to thank our members who have donated money to help earth quick victims in Haiti.
